"Poor old Gríma! Poor old Gríma! Always beaten and cursed. How I hate him! I wish I could leave him!"

"...there is a third kind: pickers of bones, meddlers in other men’s sorrows, carrion-fowl that grow fat on war. What aid have you ever brought, Stormcrow?"

"Let your counsellor Gríma keep all things till your return – and I pray that we may see it, though no wise man will deem it hopeful."

"Assuredly not, lord.  I care for you and yours as best I may. But do not weary yourself, or tax too heavily your strength. Let others deal with these irksome guests. Your meat is about to be set on the board. Will you not go to it?"

Biography:

The counselor of Théoden King of Rohan, who acted as a spy of Saruman to keep the country of Rohan weak. When Gandalf and crew arrived at Rohan and revitalized King Théoden, Gríma was exposed as a fraud and expelled from Edoras.  He fled to Isengard and was imprisoned with Saruman by the Ents in the tower of Orthanc.

After the destruction of Isengard by the Ents, he was eventually released and accompanied Saruman northward to the Shire.  He later murdered the Wizard out of revenge for mistreatment, and was shot as he fled.
